This family-friendly resort coast boasts some excellent places to stay and eat. It is only 147km from Bangkok, making it the closest major beach resort to the capital city. From sunrise to sunset, Pattaya’s beaches are constantly brimming with life, as water sports lovers and sun worshippers take to the waters. After dark, the action shifts to the streets, as revellers explore its electrified nightlife scene, where drinking and partying continue until dawn. Pattaya has outgrown its image as a seedy beach town to a destination for a wider audience and is now popular with couples, families and business travellers. But despite this, there are parts of the city that are dedicated to  beer bars, go-go clubs and massage parlours. This is especially true of the famous Walking Street, which is 500 metres of fun and can be  found at the end of Pattaya’s Beach Road.  After 6pm, the road is closed to traffic, which is also when it comes alive with neon lights, thumping music, food vendors, and street performances. If this is your idea of fun, then be sure to check out Tiffany's Cabaret Show, which takes place in a grand theatre. Performers make their entrances dressed in everything from long sweeping ball-gowns and plumes of feathers, to elaborate headdresses and skimpy swimwear. The hour-long show boasts graceful Thai dances, Broadway show tunes, and slapstick burlesque.  A lot of the city is dedicated to the mass-market sun-seeking tourist. So, if you want a relaxing stay in Pattaya, then base yourself outside the central area. If you are after a bit of peace and quiet, then be sure to spend a relaxing afternoon inside Nong Nooch Tropical Garden. This is bursting with some of the most remarkable flower displays and landscaped gardens in Thailand. You will be wowed as you see 17th-century-French-style gardens, a recreation of Stonehenge, countless creative topiary displays and gardens created exclusively with cacti, bonsais and tropical palms. If you adore sightseeing then head to the Sanctuary of Truth, which is a one-of-a-kind teak structure that is truly awe-inspiring. So, whatever you decide to do in Pattaya, it is bound to be entertaining.
